The head of the Russian office of Rossmils Investments Alexey Mogila spoke about space satellites, buckwheat production and work as a bodyguard

The head of the Russian representative office of Rossmils Alexey Mogila (pictured above) is a prominent figure in the real estate market. In 2002, Alexey came to work as a marketer at Penny Lane Realty. Two years later, the company split. In January 2004, employees of three departments – urban housing, consulting and retail real estate – almost completely left for the new Paul & # 8217; s Yard agency, also organized by Pavel Zdradovsky, a former employee of Penny Lane Realty.

Alexey Mogila, who by that time held the position of deputy director of the consulting department, also moved to a new agency. However, his relationship with Pavel Zdradovsky did not work out. Just two months later, in March 2004, Alexey left Paul's Yard and set up his own consulting company. He worked at Leeds Property Group until 2006. Alexey Mogila and his partners had a different view of business development. As a result, in 2006 Alexey returned to Penny Lane Realty. Six years later, Mogila became the head of the Russian representative office of the development company Rossmils, where he still works. The Elitnoe.RU portal asked Alexey Mogila to tell you how his life developed before working in the real estate market.

The Baikonur Steppes

– I am from a family of military engineers: my grandfather is a general, my father is a colonel. Both worked on the launch of heavy Proton launch vehicles into space. Born in Perm, but spent his childhood in Baikonur (pictured above) – the cosmodrome and the steppes around it. Scorpions were caught, ships were launched in ditches – my brother and I have not seen another life. I was going to become a military engineer and planned to enter the Mozhaisky Military Space Academy. It was the only life I could understand, and officers in Soviet times were considered a respected caste.

But in the 90s everything changed: both the material position of the officers and the attitude towards them in society. There were cases of attacks on the military, and quite often officers outside the unit were advised to wear civilian clothes. In this situation, my father opposed my military career. For a company with friends, I passed my documents to MESI, to the Faculty of Economic Informatics.

I finished school in 1991, and a year later my first child was born. The parents said: “I did not listen to the elders, now get out as best you can.” As a result, I studied in absentia, and in parallel with the institute I worked part-time in 2-3 places. The child has become a very strong motivating factor for me to move through life. You can't explain to a kid that times in the country are hard, so there is nothing to eat.

At that time, the KGB was disbanded, and officers dismissed from the committee worked next to me: majors, colonels

In my second year, I went to work in the security service, in the security service of Slavneft. At that time, the KGB was disbanded, and officers dismissed from the committee were working next to me: majors, colonels. They were serious, intelligent people who knew well the life and structure of society, and I was a young guy, a student. They spoke, I listened. And it helped me a lot in the future. I note that they did not work in the guard for long: some went into business, others became officials. And I graduated from bodyguard courses and before graduation was engaged in security issues, both corporate and personal.

Space Hierarchy

– After graduation, I went to work at the Khrunichev Space Center (pictured below), which was engaged in the production of heavy Proton launch vehicles and space stations. For example, the Mir station was made at his plant. He was an assistant to the financial director. A year later, the group I headed managed to implement an electronic document management system and a computer-aided design system at the enterprise, which employed several thousand people. As a bonus for my good work, the management paid for my studies at a business school – the Institute of Business and Business Administration.

Finishing my master's degree, I wrote a dissertation on the development strategy of the Khrunichev center, where I made a forecast about the prospects for overproduction of heavy missiles. carriers, since in the near future there will be an oversaturation of the space market with satellites. Since the Khrunichev center was an extremely conservative structure: a built hierarchy, plans for decades ahead, our views on the company's prospects did not coincide, and I had to change the field of activity.

But now my predictions have come true: saturation with satellites has occurred. New technologies have appeared. Whereas earlier satellites weighed several tons, today they are the size of a soccer ball. Any rocket launches such satellites, and they work not for 5-6 years, as before, but for half a century. Today, the Khrunichev Center is in decline, and recently there have been rumors that its territory may be built up with housing.

Buckwheat and wild boar production

– In 2001, I was unemployed. Once, while hunting, I met an official from Tver. He said that agricultural enterprises in this region cannot export products outside the region. Dealers beat drivers, punctured the wheels of cars. “Well, organize production on the spot, and let the retailers take it from you themselves,” I suggested. The Tver officials liked the idea, and I was invited to organize production. For a year I was engaged in the launch of a plant for the production of buckwheat.

On Friday I went for an interview, and on Monday I went to a new job as a marketer of a real estate agency

Perhaps now I would agree to live in wilderness, where wild boars come almost to the house at night. But then, in less than 30 years, I wanted to return to “civilization”. When a friend called and said that they were looking for a marketer in a large real estate agency Penny Lane Realty, I immediately went to Moscow. On Friday I went for an interview, and on Monday I already started a new job as a marketer for a real estate agency. And now I have been living this life for 18 years.
