Large lamps, murals and artwork of large format professionals use them not just to fill empty space. Large format plays in the interior distracts from detail, revitalizes and expands the space, change the optics of perception. Manana Art

1. Panels in the wall
Where: Moscow
The authors of the project: the designer Sukhitashvili Manana, Manana Art; Alex Lazar

In the tub, decided not to lay tiles. Wall was cleared to partly brick and left it in plain sight. And near the bath surface was covered with the glass panels with a floral print reminiscent of traditional English Wallpaper. They add to the interior comfort, making the bathroom a real room. 2. Dance in the closet
Where: Saint Petersburg
The author of the project: designer Nikolai Bannikov, Studio “Sunrise”

The apartment is designed in the image of the gallery of modern art, and the main focus in the living room was a large wardrobe with a copy of “the Dance” by Henri Matisse. The image is printed on canvas and then pasted on the facade of MDF. “We refused from the idea to paint on canvas because I wanted to get the original story of Matisse, and not a paraphrase,” recalls Nicholas. Behind the facade of the wardrobe hides a closet not only for clothing, but also a mini-Laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Maria Mikena

3. Playing with perspective
Where: Moscow
The author of the project: designer Mariya mikena, artist Anastasiya Golikova

Large format interior that distracts from things that will inevitably fill the apartment. “I like this technique very much, all the fuss about small stuff fades into the background, like dissolves,” says the designer. And another thing it makes the room visually larger.

When working with a large format it is important to choose a story and song that the man was comfortable to be around, because he unwittingly becomes a participant of this work. Here the wall was decorated with painting on canvas, copying the Botticelli’s fresco “the Annunciation”, In the work of the Renaissance masters right linear perspective, creating balance and calm. And these same feelings are carried into the interior.

Natalia Spivak and Hope Bortsova

4. Illusion
Where: Moscow
The authors of the project: designers Natalia Spivak and Hope Bortsova
This room is small size is only 9.6 sq. m. Long wall did not occupy a large wardrobe, and decorated with art Wallpaper Inkostro Bianco c architectural trick, invented by designer Karen Knorr. Print deceives the eye, deepening and as if breaking through the surface.

Nataly Komova

5. Graffiti in the kitchen
Where: Novogorsk
The author of the project: designer Natalia Komova

It’s not photopanel, and graffiti, which is spray paint performed each designer. When work dried up, its just covered with varnish for internal works. “I like to do graffiti in residential interiors is always a wave of freedom and drive. They are alive, they do not compare with any ready photo panels and murals, they can feel the soul of the artist”, — says Natalya.

And this technique is perfectly expands the space, as in this example. The wall literally disappeared and the kitchen seems endless, despite the large items next to the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets.

6. Graffiti in the bedroom
Where: Moscow
The author of the project: designer Natalia Cherneyko, NCh-BUREAU

The two bedrooms of this apartment at the head pokleit Wallpaper with prints of large format MrPerswall. In addition to decorative advantages, they have one more thing: is easily tailored to any type of wall.

The task of the designer to highlight a wall in the headboard in the master and guest bedrooms. I wanted some sort of drive, and because the project is conventionally called “Moscow — Paris — new York nonstop”, to the main bedroom, chose a new York theme with graffiti, and for guest emails and envelopes with inscriptions in English and French (see photo). Wallpaper “framed” gypsum layouts, like classic frames. So that they can be considered as large-format paintings.

Tatyana Ivanova I Interior Designer & Decorator

7. Red on the aisle
Where: Moscow
The author of the project: designer Tatyana Ivanova, Interior Designer & Decorator

This panel is located in the heart of the building — lobby: this is the path from the entrance to the living room and begins the stairs to the second floor. Picture made for the sketch designer Tatyana Ivanova, came here solely for the sake of decoration: for this space needed an accent, focal point, attracting the eye and creating the mood. The work is made of gypsum panels, glued to the wall with liquid nails. To create a play of color, the elements are pre-painted in two close shades of red.

DVEKATI

8. Panels of corrugated Board
Where: Moscow
Project authors: Ekaterina Svanidze, Ekaterina lyubars’ka, DVEKATI

Black wall divides the room into a space for recreation and the office of the owner. As art objects on the wall used picture son watch Nomon and a piece of corrugated sheet — as a Manifesto against the dominance of this material in Russia. “Corrugated sheet — building material intended for roofs and temporary fencing. On the matter of him everywhere build ugly fences. We thought because we use corrugated sheet for other purposes, why not turn it into an art object?” — says Ekaterina Svanidze.

Studio Anton Basilisco

9. The painting on the legs
Where: Saint Petersburg
The authors of the project: the Studio of Anton Basilisco

Anton Bazaliiskii often working with saturated colors, but in this project the architect faced a different challenge. The hostess has a collection of works of art and these items needed to bring to the fore. The space the apartment became for them a neutral backdrop.

For a round pattern (pictured above) Anton Bazaliiskii came up with a stand. The customer doubted where to place the canvas, and now can put it anywhere in the apartment, including in the head.

10. Classical columns
Place: Moscow
The author of the project: the designer Valery Dzyuba, NIDO interiors

Valeria is sure that the apartment is a small area makes no sense to resort to methods of strict Neoclassicism, but the customer really wanted to make columns. And they appeared in the kitchen area, however, printed on the glass. The material cemented at the joints — so managed to achieve a volume effect, and the glass was given an extra reflection of light.

Lyudmila Crystal

12. Repeat parts
Where: Zheleznogorsk
The author of the project Lyudmila crystal, Oksana Panfilov

The exits on the loggia was designed as French Windows, and the apartment was like a vacation home. “Clear, penetrated by sunlight, light as a summer breeze — so I wanted to make the interior of the apartment,” — says Lyudmila crystal. Wall murals large format continue the garden theme. A pair of table lamps with large bases and lampshades “break” the scale of space — thanks to these elements makes the room seem taller and more spacious.

11. With a bit of humor
Where: Moscow
The author of the project: the architect Nikolai Tupikov, Design Studio Tsupikov Nikolay

In this old apartment decided to keep the historical reasons. To avoid heavy historical associations, the architect chose to use a close the era of materials and combining them with modern solutions. Simply speaking, hooliganism — especially because the customers turned out to be a good sense of humor.

Wall in living room decorated with porcelain tiles under a brick. “Triptych with a Hippo — a great hit in our concept and in mood and in size,” says Nicholas.

Lavka-Design

12. Panel for the awards
Where: Moscow
Authors: Irina Lavrentieva and Anastasia Kamensky, Studio Lavka-Design

The owner of the apartment live two purebred West highland white Terrier — Champions of exhibitions and her great favorites. For the client it was important to adequately place awards and two dogs to make these floors so the animals do not slip and not parted legs. So on the floor put the engineering Board impregnated with oil. And over the dresser in the hallway hung a stand in for dog awards — it is made of the lining is fixed on the sheet of plywood.

Guseva Nataliya

13. The principle of symmetry
Where: Barcelona
Project author: architect Natalia Guseva

The house in which the apartment is built more than a century ago. The owners wanted to preserve the atmosphere of the place and time. Complex vaulted ceilings and brick walls cleared. They were the same historical background, which turns modern life. The Seating on the sides of sofa set of two accent lamps-giants on high stilts. 14. The door is invisible
