The world's first underwater villa, called The Muraka, in the Maldives was designed by YYA – Yuji Yamazaki Architecture PLLC. It is located at a depth of 16 feet. The villa is a two-level building – with an above-water and an underwater part, from both parts there is a beautiful panoramic view. The total area of ​​the residence is 800 square meters, of which 700 are above water and 100 square meters under water. One night in it will cost 50 thousand dollars. The project cost was $ 15 million.

Villa The Muraka is part of Hilton's Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort. The transparent glass walls of the large residential aquarium allow you to observe the life of the fish of the Indian Ocean, which are diving in colorful flocks in the thickets of corals – the view from the underwater bedroom to the underwater world is open at 180 degrees.

The 600-tonne villa was built in Singapore. He was taken to the islands on a specialized vessel. The villa is anchored in place by ten concrete piles, which are able to keep the villa stable even during a storm. The two-level construction of the villa is made of steel, concrete and acrylic and is designed for nine beds. The overwater part of the villa offers stunning ocean views. The villa also houses a gym and security room.

Guests are transported to the villa by seaplane, private jet or superyacht from the main resort. The villa is located at a great distance from the main resort and assumes complete privacy of rest.
