as the appearance of the festival of landscape art objects changed the life of Muscovites and residents of other megacities

At the end of July of this year, the anniversary, 20th festival “Arch” was held. Over the past time, the event has changed a lot. Initially, the event of a little-known village of Nikola-Lenivets was conceived as a Lend-Art festival, but it has long been beyond the boundaries of this direction. And today, “Arch of Arch” is music, performances, lectures and many other faces of contemporary art.

The theme of “Arch – 2025” is designated as “My Main”. As part of the event at the edge of the forest, 13 new art objects were designed, united by the topic of a person’s search for his own self. All installations made white, and the new thematic art space was called “White City.”

This city has its own infrastructure. The main point of entering the art space was the installation of the “air port” of the artist Aristarchus Chernyshev. The Belo City transport hub is a schedule with a flight schedule (in the photo above), located in a forest glade between trees and bushes. You can approach the scoreboard through the labyrinth of tape fences, at the entrance to which the “airport worker” in uniforms suggests thinking about the most important path in his life.

Also, the infrastructure of the “White City” includes the “hospital” (photo above), “school”, “museum” and a number of other infrastructure objects necessary for the life of a large settlement, including the city inside of itself. The artist Daria Ivashkin suggested that they wish to travel in the elevator (in the photo above). On the outskirts of the forest, a real elevator cabin for nine people with two buttons was installed: up and down. After closing the doors, an audio spectacle began lasting three minutes, in each of the directions – its own. The arguments about the meaning of life were periodically interrupted by the rattle of mechanisms, flickering light or complete immersion in the dark … The installation invited the “passengers” to rethink their life path, and, possibly, change their desire to move where they always sought.

The most large-scale installation of the 2025 Archmother festival was the Polygon 3D-Mirazh (in the photo below) designer Alexander Shtanyuk. On the field of a field with an area of about 500 square meters. m created a futuristic landscape with mountains and valleys.

However, while watching old art objects and new installations, I had a question whether these creative ideas have practical use. You can draw a parallel with science. For example, the history of the radio begins with the fact that the physicist James Maxwell in the mid-1860s theoretically predicted the theory of electromagnetism. After about a quarter of a century, physicist Henry Hertz confirmed this theory experimentally. And already in 1895, Russian engineer Alexander Popov made the first working radio receiver. That is, about 35 years have passed from the emergence of the theory of electromagnetism to the invention of the radio. This is a long time. Have you found ideas originated at the festival, practical application in architecture and design, or remained a “horse in vacuum”? I asked this question to professional designers and architects present at the festival as guests or representing their objects.

founder of the Archpoin bureau, author of one author of one From the objects of the “White City” art space, Valery Lizunov began to talk about the audience emotions that should cause his ideas. The rest simply noticed that the question is interesting. It was possible to get a serious answer only from the head of the studio “AT_ARCHETURTURA, design” Anastasia Topova.

According to her, only 20-25 years ago, the term “urban improvement” was meant paths made of asphalt or tiles, benches and urns, and the concept of “art” was represented in playgrounds and in the parks in the form of boring objects that have no artistic artistic artistic artistic art. values. “Today in Moscow and other large cities there are many interesting art objects that are tightly connected with the urban comfortable environment, including thanks to such unique phenomena as“ arches ”,” summed up Anastasia Topoeva.
